THE RESTAURANT
“Don Alfonso 1890” restaurant has been completely restyled recently to help its guests enjoy the best of what Italy’s south has to offer: the most beautiful colours and light in the world. Its wide luminous windows- even in the kitchen – and vibrant shades of lilac, yellow, orange and pink set off by brilliant white immediately set the tone for an elegant, sun-kissed meal. The design is modern, but its heirloom hand-painted tiles and artist’s paintings never lose sight of the original 19th century Neapolitan palazzo that has always been at the heart of this great restaurant. As with all major forms of art, cooking stimulates the emotions. Ours is based on three fundamental principles: a modern approach, a Mediterranean character and the use of only the absolutely freshest ingredients. Our innovative style never loses sight of its long cultural heritage. And this philosophy applies as much to our design as it does to our cooking.
SUITES
The Don Alfonso 1890 suites are located in a historic building dating back to the 1800s. they are styled with antique furniture, which are reminiscent of the ancient origins of the Iaccarino family’s estate. The pastel colours are inspired by the tones of Mediterranean flowers which bloom profusely on the coast. In the garden, separated from the other suites, there is the Poet’s House, so named because it was the summer house of the famous Neapolitan poet Salvatore Di Giacomo.
THE COOKING SCHOOL
In an atmosphere which was designed to mirror the old Neapolitan houses, among hand painted majolica of Vietri and the most modern technologies, our guests can go in for learning the basics of Mediterranean cuisine.
WHERE WE ARE
In the heart of the lovely village of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi – so named because of it sits between two divine coasts, Amalfi and Sorrento coasts – there is a small cluster of houses dating from the nineteenth century. The restaurant occupies the central building surrounded by the luxurious suites for our guests to stay in. The village is located just a few kilometers away from Positano and Sorrento, in front of the island of Capri.
Whereas our country farm is located in the village of Termini, in the marvelous scenery of Punta Campanella.
